About Dreaming Digital's Billing

Projects are normally billed on a contract basis. Complete Web sites, eCommerce setup and design, graphic design projects, flyers and other print media, new company logos, videos, animation, media etc... are examples of projects. An official PDF document quote is emailed (or faxed if you prefer) to you and a price is agreed upon. Before we accept your project we must have a quick email or fax stating your intent to have us do the work described in the quote and that you guarantee payment of the quoted amount. A 50% deposit is required before any work will begin. Each milestone in the project must be "signed-off." Changes to signed-off areas of the project will be billed an hourly rate to perform your requested revisions to the previously approved milestone. The remainder is due upon completion of the project or within 8 weeks of the deposit (whatever comes first.) After the 8 weeks a 1% late fee is added to the balance. Each additional month late another 1% late fee is added to the balance to a maximum by law late fee of 15% compounded.
 
Maintenance and Updates are charged at hourly rate. The hourly rate depends on the type of work being done and the date you need it completed by. Web site updates, consulting, digital photography, network installs, database troubleshooting, database help, & other maintenance duties are examples of work charged at hourly rate. You will be billed after the work is completed. Your invoice will have a detail of how many hours (divided in 1/4 of an hour) the job took, the rate, and a brief description of the job. You have 30 days to pay the invoice. After 30 days if you have not paid your invoice a 1% late fee is added to your invoice. Each additional month late another 1% late fee is added to the balance to a maximum by law late fee of 15% compounded.
 
Payment & Currency: Our accepted payment methods are personal / company cheque or money order made payable to "Colin Puttick". If you prefer to not pay by cheque we will accept PayPal. Our prices are in Canadian dollars for Canadian projects and American Dollars for American projects.
 
Penalties And Surcharges: A $30 charge is added to your invoice for each dishonored cheque! Late fees are 1% per month as described in the first two paragraphs above. Any project-specific surcharge will be agreed upon in the quote. (Example: installation and customization of additional Miva merchant modules up and above the ones agreed upon in your quote.)

  • $1,300 The minimum Classic (regular HTML not database-driven) Web site design fee. This includes 5 to 7 pages with 2 having the possibility of sending form data. All text and photographic images are supplied by the client. Your professional, unique Web site design and graphic design touchups are included.
  • $1,600+ Starting point for Flash interface & content Web sites.
  • $1,900+ The next step up for a Classic Web site. You'll get more forms, more pages and more detail, DHTML menus, Flash integration etc... The more features, the more it costs.
  • $3,900+ Starting point for our customized design, setup and installation of a new osCommerce E-Commerce Web site driven by PHP and MySQL. osCommerce is a powerful open-source e-commerce solution for any sized business and has many open-source "contributions" or add-ons we can configure, modify and install.
  • $5,900+ Starting point for our customized design, setup and installation of a new Miva Merchant E-Commerce Web site. We are experts at Miva Merchant 4. The difference between having us setup and configure your Miva Merchant Web site and doing it yourself or hiring a company that says they'll learn as they go is NIGHT and DAY.
  • $4,900 Is the average cost of a medium-size company Web site. Medium sized sites have secondary and tertiary DHTML or Flash navigation and much more content. Database components such as a search, photo gallery and calendar are also included. They also involve more consulting because of the planning to create a site that is still user-friendly but contain so many features and information.

Hourly Rates are always considered with common sense. If WE choose to do your project NOW you won't be charged Rush or Emergency rates. We're here for you!

    • $67/hr/person: Rush Rate: get to your project within 1 to 3 days
    • $99/hr/person: Emergency Rate: NOW!!
    • $57/hr/person: Work/Meet at your office in Saskatoon, SK. Normal: scheduled 2+ days in advance (Travel to your location is billed hourly)
    • $99/hr/person: Work/Meet at your office in Saskatoon, SK: Rush: scheduled 1+ days in advance (Travel to your location is billed hourly)
    • $147/hr/person: Work/Meet at your office in Saskatoon, SK: Emergency: come over right now (Travel to your location is billed hourly)
       
  • MySQL Database, PHP, Pearl/CGI, Python, Tomcat, Java
    • $87/hr/person; Normal Rate: get to your project within 1 to 8 days
    • $125/hr/person: Rush Rate: get to your project within 1 to 3 days
    • $147/hr/person: Work/Meet at your office in Saskatoon, SK. Normal: scheduled 7+ days in advance (Travel to your location is billed hourly)
    • $199/hr/person: Work/Meet at your office in Saskatoon, SK: Rush: scheduled 3 to 6 days in advance (Travel to your location is billed hourly)
       
  • Misc. Other Hourly Rates
    • $35/hr + $0.50/km Drive out of Saskatoon to your location. There and Back.
    • $30/hr/computer: FTP upload/download ONLY. Unattended.
    • $60/hr/computer: Movie rendering, 3D Animation rendering, DVD burning
       
  • Misc. Other Project Estimated Rates
    • $60/finished rendered second: Flash animation project for DVD, presentation, intros, how-to movies...
    • $225: custom designed business card
    • $250/page: (8.5" x 11") Print media graphic design: flyers, forms, posters...
    • $599: 3-Fold custom designed brochure
